I am a software engineer by training, with Computer Science degrees from MIT, and over 25 years in the software industry. I am a writer by avocation, and a philosopher by desire. I now make my living as a technical writer specializing in web-based information systems, while trying to figure out the Universe on the side. Results so far have been mixed.

This site does not depend on the eccentricities of any specific web browser. These pages were written in an XML grammar based on DocBook, using an XSL transform to generate the HTML.

I do almost all of my work under Linux, using open-source tools, with a firm reliance on open standards. There is really no reason to settle for less.
